Instructional Design
Current Consulting Samples
In my current consulting role at nectar.inc, I am part of a cross-functional team that partners with colleges and universities to optimize the educator experience and improve student outcomes in online, hybrid, flex, and flipped classrooms in diverse subjects like Cyber Information Technology, Commerce, and Public Health Policy. This client-facing position has challenged me to dive into diverse content areas, adapt to a variety of instructional approaches, and apply my expertise in competency-based learning, eLearning best practices, and universal design for learning (UDL) in new ways. I have flexed my project management and people skills to keep stressed faculty on track and inspire them to re-envision and re-invigorate courses that they have been teaching in the same way for decades. I have leveraged my creative writing skills as I translate complex, technical concepts into accessible and engaging student-facing language. I balance creativity with a strong attention to detail as I work with new clients to develop Course Design Kits, which help SME’s to envision better what their course(s) will look like, provide the internal team with the information needed to create templates for building content, and house reference material for all stakeholders to ensure consistency and adherence to the agreed-upon scope. I manage multiple complex projects that continually invite me to learn new project management, LMS, and content creation software, such as ClickUp, Brightspace, Microsoft SharePoint, and H5P. Recently, I have used H5P to gamify learning, creating, for example, interactive crosswords and group study guides for Dhananji Amaratunge, a CUNY Professor and the Director of Microsoft Security Copilot.

What | asynchronous online cornerstone course for incoming 2nd year students
As Learning Design Lead, I am solely responsible for the end-to-end development of a nine-week, asynchronous course that will be a cornerstone experience for 400 incoming students per year. I am leveraging everything in my diverse skillset as I coordinate course development with nine staff leads and three administrators (who bring expertise but no classroom teaching experience); generate multimedia assets that will appeal to students, donors, and board members; design assessments that evaluate a range of hard and soft skills; and coordinate media production with a remote internal team. I write original video scripts to make learning memorable and design knowledge checks and branching scenarios that allow learners to influence the direction of their learning experience and engage with content in an active, story-driven way.
