RESOURCE ARCHIVES
Tarot 101
What | interactive resource archive & cultural artifact
Audience | festival participants/anyone interested in learning about the Tarot
I made this asset for Words In Action, an arts and activism festival. This festival was free and open to the public and required for students of Creative Writing. I debuted this asset during the final session and used it to help students to reflect on and personalize their learning. This reflective practice prepared us to generate and commit to individual and group actions we would perform post-festival to extend the learning experience and the learning community beyond event itself.

I’ve been writing and publishing books for 20 years, and have published four books of poetry.
I love books, and am a voracious reader.
I also, however, believe that we can innovate beyond the textbook/anthology, crafting interactive resource archives that contain the same content as traditional books but that offer a more accessible, immediate, customizable, and SURPRISING experience.
Scientific studies have shown that, when students engage in acts of DISCOVERY, this makes the material more readily accessible in memory and nurtures the will to learn. It also returns us to a childlike state of CURIOSITY, which leads, in turn, to DISCOVERY and an increased will to learn.
This Storyline project exemplifies my lifelong mission of reconnecting learners with the innate childhood curiosity that we all share.
